It should be know that the majority of people who come to see me as patients whohave been diagnosed with sciatica, don't have true sciatica. They do have leg pain thatis mimicking sciatica. In other words, it is running through the buttocks and down thethight, right down to the ankle but it stems from a different place. It's not the sciaticnerve. It is from a tight muscle in the buttocks, known as the piriformis muscle. It clampsdown over the sciatic nerve giving you sciaticlike

symtoms. \parYou chiropractor can tell the difference between these two. True sciatica and a piriformismuscle problem. I'm going to show you a stretch to get rid of the piriformis muscle problemand the resultant leg pain. If you do this stretch and notice your leg pain startingto decrease, you probably didn't have true sciatica and that's great, because sciaticais harder to treat. \par So you want to sit fairly close to the walland swing your legs up so your heels touch the wall. If you leg pain is on the left, then take your left ankle and place it over your left knee. Now some of you might findthat this position is already very difficult

to get into because your piriformis musclehas become very tight. If you want to increase the stretch, shuffle up closer to the wallwith your buttocks. If you want to deepen the stretch yet again, slide your right foot down thewall so that your knee is bent. You can increase the stretch by gently bringing the left kneetoward your opposite shoulder. That is the perfect position to lie in for the next sixtyseconds using your breathing to relax. \par Do the stretch on both sides, even if yoursymptoms are only on the left, as you need to stay symmetrical. 60 seconds on both sides.Remember to increase the stretch by pulling your knee gently toward the opposite shoulderor by sliding the opposite leg down the wall.

\parAny questions please send my an email to posture tutorials . Thanks for watching.\par\pard\sa200\sl276\slmult1\f1\fs22\par }.

the body formed by the combination ofthe nerve roots emerging from the L4,L5,S1,S2,and S3 vertebrae from the back the nerve is a big one that forms from all these roots and then travels through the back of the of the buttocks through the thighs and into the legs andso sciatica is a problem that manifest from the back down to the legs you cansee that one of the most common causes of sciatica is the disc that is between the two vertebrae comprising these roots of the sciatic nerve if any of these roots are compressed by prolapsed disc

that is the cause of sciatica about 90% of the time sciatica is only costs by spinal discherniation or lumbar spondylosis pressing on one of the lumbar or sacral nerve roots other problems that may result in sciatica are spondylolisthesis spinal stenosis piriformis syndrome piriformis is the muscle that is very very close to the sciatic nerveand infact muscles into spasm that can also press on the sciatic nerve and produceproblem pelvic tumors can also cause sciatica very rarely compression baby's head duringpregnancy is also a cause of sciatica conventional treatment for sciatica is predominantlycomprising of pain medication in about

ninety percent of the patients theproblem goes away in less than six weeks if the pain is severe and it lasts for more than six weeks thensurgery is recommended in modern medicine while surgery is often capable ofreducing the pain and producing an immediate improvement the longtermbenefits of surgery are very very unclear that is this inthis context that we present arogya avn arogya's ayurvedic treatment protocol for treatment of sciatica wetreat chronic sciatica even in those patients are being recommended for surgery with ayurvedic intervention the ayurvedic intervention comprises of ayurvedic medicines both

Slip Disc Treatmentavnarogyain

Slip disc treatment.A Slipped disc or a herniated disc is otherwise called as disc prolapse and is a condition inwhich the outer part of the disc which is the cushion between the two vertebraeof the subsequent vertebrae in the spine the outer part is called as anulus fibrosus and the inner part is called as the nucleus pulposus the outer part of the anulus fibrosus cracks leading to the protrusion of the inner softcoreor the nucleus pulposus and this condition is called as disc prolapse there are several stages in a disc prolapse you cansee commonly we talk about four

different stages the first stage iscalled the disc degeneration where the disc the outer layer loses its elasticity and the fibers that are there in the outer layer starts becoming loose leading to the whole buldge the disc becoming buldged that condition is called as discdegeneration or disc dehydration the next stage the nucleus pulposus are the soft interior starts protruding through the week fibers of the external layer of the annulusfibrosis and that condition is called as a prolapse when this happens theprolapsed part of the disc goes and touches on the adjoining nerves andfrom that stage onwards people start

having symptoms till then the first stageof degeneration there are no symptoms extreme stages of prolapse lead to acomplete rupture of the external core leading to a protrusion of the nucleuspulposus and even later a part of the prolapsed material can completelydetached from that and that stage is called as disc sequestration if you look at thisthing the disc after its protrudes or prolapses it can go and touchon the nerve roots that are emerging from the disc and that that is what causes the symptomsassociated with the disc prolapse or slip disc or herniated discwhat causes the herniated disc or slip disc

the most important cause of a slip disc isdehydration that is part of ageing dehydration means the loss of moisture or water content in the disc this happens with age and thereby disc loses itselasticity in that sort of a condition when there is a sudden pressure on the disc which is cost either by excessive weight of the body or when a person subjects the vertebrae to some stress like lifting something heavy or even due to continous trauma as in travelling even a mild shake that is happening vertically over a long period of time is capable of leading to a disc prolapseleave alone the severe trauma or when

somebody's subjected to a vehicularaccident or suddenly jerked vertically that can lead to a suddenprolapse of the disc this disc prolapse is can happen in any of the vertebrae along the entire spine but the most common place is our neck region which is called as a cervical region or the back which is known as the lumbar region if the disc in the cervical region collpases it can lead to pain, numbness weakness tingling sensation etc. and the neckin the shoulders and all along the arms if the upper regions of the neck are affected it can also lead to a headache occipital headache that is headache at this part of the head as well as to single i mean

headache on one side of the head weakness in the legs or bladder and bowel problems are also can result from cervical disc related problems if the disc is protruding and touching on the spinal cord it can lead to complications in thelower part of the body disc that is prolapsing at the back or in the lumbar region leads to pain, numbness, tingling sensation or weakness or even wastage of the muscles at the back in the thighs and inthe legs. What is the treatment for disc prolapse or a slip discé painkillers forms the most important aspect of the treatment painkillers and rest for some period of time
