It should be know that the majority of people who come to see me as patients whohave been diagnosed with sciatica, don't have true sciatica. They do have leg pain thatis mimicking sciatica. In other words, it is running through the buttocks and down thethight, right down to the ankle but it stems from a different place. It's not the sciaticnerve. It is from a tight muscle in the buttocks, known as the piriformis muscle. It clampsdown over the sciatic nerve giving you sciaticlike

symtoms. \parYou chiropractor can tell the difference between these two. True sciatica and a piriformismuscle problem. I'm going to show you a stretch to get rid of the piriformis muscle problemand the resultant leg pain. If you do this stretch and notice your leg pain startingto decrease, you probably didn't have true sciatica and that's great, because sciaticais harder to treat. \par So you want to sit fairly close to the walland swing your legs up so your heels touch the wall. If you leg pain is on the left,then take your left ankle and place it over your left knee. Now some of you might findthat this position is already very difficult

to get into because your piriformis musclehas become very tight. If you want to increase the stretch, shuffle up closer to the wallwith your buttocks. If you want to deepen the stretch yet again, slide your right foot down thewall so that your knee is bent. You can increase the stretch by gently bringing the left kneetoward your opposite shoulder. That is the perfect position to lie in for the next sixtyseconds using your breathing to relax. \par Do the stretch on both sides, even if yoursymptoms are only on the left, as you need to stay symmetrical. 60 seconds on both sides.Remember to increase the stretch by pulling your knee gently toward the opposite shoulderor by sliding the opposite leg down the wall.

How I got rid of Sciatica and Low Back Pain permanently

Hi I'm not a medical who practises medicine I've always treated myself with diet, fasting and natural remedies so i asked myself why is it we get sciatica painsé I eat healthy, though I eat a little bit of cake, and I eat meats, and drink a little wine I'm not a fanatic but I usually try to eat healthy I have no health problems even though I am now in my 60s but I couldn't figure out why I was getting this trouble with my lower back

And when I met her she actually had her own dance troupe And she was teaching Salsa and Samba to people in Sacramento And her name wsa Magica. She took on the second name of Magica because her life was magic you see she was told she was going to be confined to a wheelchair and here she was teaching dancing! And I felt her lower back.she had asked me to feel her lower back

and it was just nothing but crushed bone I couldn't imagine how she could walk and dance But she had built up the musculature around the area that was damaged and that's why she was able to function normally So I though of her and said quot;If Magica could do what she did , I do not need to go to the quot; II'm going to stay at home And another friend from Portugal had gone through a surgery for the same lower back problems

and he was now confined to a wheelchair and in a terrible state So I wanted to find out what's this about the back that is causing sciatica and the lower back to get out of whack sso I took a photgraph of my back this picture was taken on my IMAC and I turned by back to the computer so thei right side is actually the left side of my back This is the right side of my back This is my spinal chord and you can see this thick band here which forms a shadow on the right side of my spinal chord

Yoga Twist Workout for Back Pain Sciatica Relief How To Do Half Spinal Yoga Twists

In this series of Yoga House tutorials we are looking at Desktop Yoga and specifically what can be done for the back to counter the effects of sitting atthe desk for very long. Sit cross legged and holding your knee and the armrest turn aroundand look at the back. Breathing is normal. After 15 seconds come back to center and crossyour leg the other way, lock your elbow, twist and look at the back. Stretch as much as iscomfortable for you. Remember that you are are twisting, and don't turn the chair and thinkthat you are twisting, and say that you body are twisting. For the standing stretch, seethat one hand is on the opposite shoulder

and holding the hip start to twist the back.Even a simple movement like this goes a long way in ensuring that your central nervoussystem functions optimally. Change to the other side. Ensure that there is no stiffnessin the back, especially if you are sitting 78 hours at your work station. See to itthat the back is kept flexed. So in this tutorial we saw what could be done in terms of spinaltwisting. Most people would start working sitting like this and as the day proceedsthey will then end up working on their desktop or laptop like this which means over a courseof few years gets extremely unfit.
